Mental Health Unmasked

On Saturday 13 December 2025, Black Arts Productions hosted Mental Health Unmasked, a powerful community mental health event at St Ann’s Library Hall in Tottenham, London. The afternoon brought together local residents, creatives, and professionals for an honest and supportive exploration of mental health through drama and open discussion.

The event combined live performance, community conversation, and real-life experiences, creating a safe and welcoming space to talk openly about mental health challenges affecting our community. The use of theatre helped break down barriers, encouraging empathy, understanding, and meaningful dialogue.

We were proud to welcome Kojo Sarpong (Talking Tottenham) and Dr Roger Smith, Mental Health Lawyer and Clinical Psychologist, whose thoughtful contributions deepened the conversation around mental wellbeing, access to support services, and the importance of addressing stigma around mental health in London communities.

Mental Health Unmasked was delivered in partnership with a wide network of local organisations committed to wellbeing, community development, and positive change across Haringey and Tottenham including: BridgeTrust, Tottenham Talking, Haringey - Black Health Legacy Group, Haringey GP Federation. Haringey Basketball, Sewn Together, and 4U2. Their collaboration played a vital role in making this free, accessible mental health event possible.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed with such openness and respect. Showcases at the Mental Health Unmasked event highlighted the power of arts, conversation, and community action in supporting mental health and reminding us that no one has to face these challenges alone. We must continue to have these conversations if we want to bring about real awareness and change within the community.

FEEDBACK We would like to invite feedback to anyone who attended; a feedback form will be released

shortly.
